The pilot project for JSC Carlsberg Ukraine was aimed at finding and testing a solution which could replace the outdated HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5. Microsoft System Center Service Manager 2012 was found the most suitable.

Criteria

Microsoft System Center Service Manager 2012 provides an integrated platform for automating and adapting best practices of IT services management to the company’s requirements.

The main objectives of the project were:

• Migration (transfer) of data from HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 to MS System Center 2012 Service Manager;
• Establishing a two-way integration between HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 and MS System Center 2012 Service Manager to avoid duplication of the data entered.
Under the pilot project for JSC Carlsberg Ukraine, SI BIS technical experts were involved in:
• Export of the data from the existing HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 system with associated incidents, tasks, configuration items, change requests
• Import of the prepared data from HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 to SCSM 2012
• Setup of a two-way synchronization of MS SCSM 2012 and HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 via MS SC Orchestrator 2012

Results

During the pilot project, JSC Carlsberg Ukraine experts tested the possibilities for migrating data from HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 to Microsoft System Center Service Manager 2012 and evaluated all the advantages of the latter.
